Murcia Brass Quintet

Brass Quintet, formed by members of the “Orquesta Sinfónica de la Region de Murcia”

Created in 2003 by members of the “Orquesta Sinfónica de la Region de Murcia” , this group was born with the intention of spreading chamber music.
Since its creation, MURCIA BRASS has been interested in the performance and dissemination of the most varied musical repertoire, working with authors from all periods and styles, from the Renaissance to the present day, and performing adaptations and original works for brass quintet.
When interpreting different musical styles, especially Renaissance and Baroque, it is of vital importance to achieve a quality interpretation and, of course, as faithful as possible to the music of the time. For this reason, MURCIA BRASS regularly receives classes from the prestigious chamber music specialist and member of the famous brass quintet “Vienna Brass”, Rudi Korp.

Of course, original contemporary works for brass quintet and by famous national composers can also be seen in the repertoire; thus helping to enhance the music here, our music.
The repertoire selected by MURCIA BRASS is one of the most careful elements in each of its performances and it always plays a key role in each of them. If we add a fantastic staging to all this, the result is unbeatable: magnificent professionals on stage, a select repertoire and a quality interpretation will make this event an unforgettable concert that will please the general public, and will surely change the concept of many on chamber music conceived for brass instruments.

In its long history, MURCIA BRASS has performed in countless Chamber Music Festivals, highlighting several cycles in the Region of Murcia, such as “Music on the Night of San Juan”, “Music in the Museums”, “International Music Festival de Cámara de Murcia” and “Chamber Music Cycle of the Auditorio y Centro de Congresos Víctor Villegas”.
Outside the Region, MURCIA BRASS has had the honor of participating in various Chamber Music cycles such as the “Frax Foundation International Concert Festival” (Alicante), the inauguration of Bilbao’s “Aste Nagusia” Big Week in 2012 and the Summer Brass Festival Alicante, among others.

Among his next commitments, several Instrumental Specialization Courses around the Spanish geography and a Concert in the chamber hall of the “Palau de Les Arts” in Valencia should be highlighted.
